Commence with a captivating musical performance by the talented Tony, Grammy, and Emmy-nominated N'Kenge, honoring Dorothy Dandridge's life and accomplishments. Our skilled musicians will present a selection of songs from the upcoming Broadway musical Dorothy Dandridge! The Musical. This performance provides a platform to discuss Dandridge's pioneering journey as the first African American actress to receive an Academy Award nomination. Students will discover her impact on the arts and how her bravery and creativity continue to inspire today.


Next, we will move into a session on mental awareness led by Actor, Advocate, and Award-winning Producer Marissa Ghavami, emphasizing the significance of mental health and well-being. Through engaging activities and discussions, students will learn strategies for stress management, resilience building, and fostering a positive mindset. This segment aims to equip students with the tools necessary to handle their emotions and challenges, highlighting that mental health is as crucial as physical health.
