COMMITMENT

Accessibility
Statement

Our commitment to equitable access for every artist, audience member, and supporter.

Our Commitment

The N'Kenge Foundation is committed to ensuring that nkengefoundation.org is accessible to people with disabilities. We design and develop this site to conform to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the standard adopted by the U.S. Department of Justice for digital accessibility under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

What This Means

We work to provide:

  • Sufficient color contrast (minimum 4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text and interface elements).
  • Full keyboard navigation across every page, dialog, and interactive surface.
  • Screen-reader-compatible markup with descriptive labels, landmarks, and ARIA attributes.
  • A visible focus indicator on every interactive element.
  • Respect for user motion preferences (prefers-reduced-motion).
  • Skip-to-content links and meaningful page structure.

Standards Conformance

As of May 12, 2026, the N'Kenge Foundation website conforms to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Our most recent third-party-style audit was completed on May 11, 2026, and all critical and serious violations have been remediated. We re-audit the site quarterly and after any significant design change.

Ongoing Work

Accessibility is never finished. We continuously test new content against assistive technologies including VoiceOver (macOS / iOS), NVDA (Windows), and keyboard-only navigation. We welcome feedback from anyone who encounters a barrier.

Report a Barrier

If you encounter content or functionality that is not accessible to you, please contact us at accessibility@nkengefoundation.org. We aim to respond within five business days and resolve confirmed barriers within thirty days.
