ABOUT THIS EVENT

Showstopper Day 2026 — Masterclasses & The National Finals at The Players

Are You The Next Showstopper?!

2026 Showstopper Masterclasses & National Finals

Open to All Aspiring Performers, Creatives & Educators

Spend the Day Inside a New York Landmark

Before the lights go up on the Are You the Next Showstopper?! National Finals, spend the day inside one of New York's most legendary artistic institutions — learning from the artists, casting professionals, and educators who are actually doing the work.

Showstopper Day is built for the singer, actor, dancer, musician, and multi-hyphenate creative who is ready to stop waiting and start moving. Educators and parents are equally welcome; many of our most powerful conversations happen across generations in this room.

Space is limited.

The Grand Prize

An all-expenses-paid scholarship to the Ultimate International Performing Arts Summer Program in Italy — a 15-day intensive study-abroad experience (July 6–20, 2026) with world-renowned industry professionals. This is the prize that defines the year: a young artist whose family could not have funded an international training program is sent to one anyway.

Additional Awards: People's Choice Award — $250 cash prize · All-Finalist Medal · Program recognition

The Day in Full

Registration opens at 11:30 AM.

12:00 PM - Welcome & Showstopper Day Kickoff

A short welcome from The N'Kenge Foundation team and an overview of the day ahead.

12:15 PM - 12:50 PM - Private Guided Tour of The Players

Step inside one of New York's most iconic artistic landmarks. The Players was founded in 1888 by famed Shakespearean actor Edwin Booth as a gathering place for actors, writers, and creative visionaries — and remains the only active cultural institution of its kind operating in its original Gramercy Park location. Designated a National Historic Landmark in 1963.

On the tour, you'll see:

  • Historic performance and gathering spaces

  • Edwin Booth's preserved third-floor apartment

  • The Hampden-Booth Theatre Library — one of the largest 19th-century American theatre libraries in the world

  • Portraits, costumes, and artifacts honoring more than a century of entertainment legends

  • The Stanford White architecture that shaped this Gilded Age mansion

1:00 PM - 1:50 PM - Masterclass #1: Building Your Brand as a Performer

With N'Kenge, Immpana Srri, and Anzhelika Steen-Olsen

Talent gets noticed. Brand gets remembered. In today's industry, your online presence carries the same weight as your audition-room presence. This session covers:

  • Growing on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and emerging platforms

  • Creating content that earns real engagement (not just views)

  • Defining your voice, style, image, and story

  • What casting directors, agents, and producers actually look for online

  • Turning followers and visibility into real opportunities

Built for artists who want to stand out in a crowded room.

2:00 PM - 2:50 PM - Masterclass #2: From Talent to Career - Breaking Into the Industry

With N'Kenge and special guests

A candid, no-gatekeeping conversation about how the entertainment business actually works. Designed for performers ready to treat their craft as a profession:

  • How to find auditions in theatre, music, television, film, and live entertainment

  • Building your professional toolkit: headshots, demo reels, vocal samples, resumes, websites

  • Understanding agents, managers, casting directors, and contracts

  • What "getting discovered" actually looks like in 2026

  • The most common early-career mistakes — and how to avoid them

Includes a 15-minute live Q&A.

3:00 PM – 3:50 PM -Finalist Rehearsal (Finalists Only)

A closed working session with N'Kenge and the production choreographer to set the opening number for the evening competition. Audience access resumes at 4:30 PM.

4:30 PM - Doors Open for the Finals

VIP check-in, networking, and seating.

5:00 PM - Are You the Next Showstopper?! National Finals

Ten finalists, selected from a national video submission round, perform live before a celebrity judging panel and a live audience. One opening number, ten three-minute performances, real-time audience voting, and a grand prize that changes lives.

About the Competition

Are You the Next Showstopper?! is a national talent search for the next generation of performers across singing, acting, dance, and music. From a nationwide pool of video submissions, ten finalists are selected to perform live in New York City at The Players.

Hosts: N'Kenge and H.H. Dr. Prince Mario Max Schaumburg-Lippe

Judging Panel: Saycon Sengbloh · Peter Avery · Michael James Scott · Stephanie Rosenberg

Why You Should Be in the Room

For students and emerging artists, this is the most affordable way to spend a full day inside The Players with the artists who can actually open doors. For educators, this is the kind of insider access that's almost impossible to arrange independently. For parents and supporters, this is where you watch ten young performers do the bravest thing of their year — and you decide whether to be there when one of them wins a trip that rewrites their future.
